ISLAMABAD: Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA) on Tuesday achieved a historic milestone as 15 commercial plots in the prime sectors of G-13 and G-14 were auctioned for more than Rs10 billion on the first day of its two-day mega auction.
The auction, which commenced at 10:00 a.m. at Auragrande Event Complex, Service Road East, Sector E-11/4, Islamabad, attracted significant interest from dealers, investors and business groups from across the capital.
Commercial plots in key locations including G-14 Markaz, G-14/2, G-14/3, G-14/4 and other prominent commercial areas are being offered during the auction, which will conclude on Wednesday (September 16).
Director General FGEHA Captain (Retd.) Zafar Iqbal said the successful auction reflected growing investor confidence in G-13 and G-14, which are rapidly developing into important residential and commercial hubs of Islamabad.
He said the Authority was ensuring a transparent, merit-based and well-organised auction process in accordance with the prescribed rules and regulations, adding that such initiatives would help promote commercial activity and create attractive investment opportunities.
The DG said G-13 and G-14 offered considerable potential for future business and investment owing to their strategic location and ongoing development.
To facilitate investors, FGEHA has also established an Investor Facilitation Cell under the supervision of the Director Staff to provide a centralised mechanism for addressing their issues and applications.
The Director Staff will coordinate with the relevant wings, monitor the progress of investors’ cases and ensure timely action, enabling investors to obtain guidance and services without visiting multiple offices.
The initiative aims to make the investment process more transparent, convenient and investor-friendly through swift resolution of issues at a single point.
The Authority has invited investors to participate actively in the second and final day of the auction and benefit from the commercial and investment potential of G-13 and G-14.
The two-day auction will conclude on September 16 (Wednesday). –Agencies
