Talking to APP, an FGEHA spokesperson confirmed that Secretary Housing and Works Captain (Retd.) Muhammad Mahmood issued the directions during a visit to the project, accompanied by FGEHA Director General Captain (Retd.) Zafar Iqbal and the authority’s joint venture partner, Chaudhry Ismail.
The spokesperson said development work in the three blocks under Package-I had entered its final stages, with finishing work underway. The project comprises 4,255 plots, of which 2,470 have been allotted.
He said the remaining technical and administrative matters were being addressed to ensure the timely completion of development work.
The spokesperson added that the housing secretary had directed the relevant officers to ensure the availability of all basic facilities, including effective drainage and sewerage systems, before handing over possession to the allottees.
The secretary emphasised that meeting the possession deadline alone was not sufficient, stressing that allottees must also be provided with a properly serviced residential environment.
The spokesperson said the secretary would revisit the project to review progress on development work and implementation of the directions issued during his visit.
He added that FGEHA Director General Captain (Retd.) Zafar Iqbal had assured the provision of all possible financial, technical and administrative support to ensure the timely completion of the project.
