ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), through Interpol, arrested five suspects wanted by the Punjab Police.
The five fugitives from the UAE were arrested and brought to Pakistan.
The arrested accused Mahmood Waqas, Mohammad Nadeem, Shah Mohammad Gondal, Rameez Khan and Abbas Ali were involved in murder cases and wanted by Punjab Police.
Red notices were issued by FIA for the arrest of the accused.
The FIA arrested them with the help of Interpol and handed over to the concerned CPO Rawalpindi and DPO Sialkot, Sheikhpura and Gjurat at Islamabad International Airport.
Two bike lifters arrested, 11 motorcycles recovered
RAWALPINDI: Police have arrested two bike lifters and recovered 11 stolen motorcycles and other items from their possession.
A team under the supervision of SHO Rawat Police Station managed to net two accused namely Waqas and Ashraf Khalid who were bike lifters and allegedly involved in several cases registered in different police stations. Police recovered 11 stolen motorcycles and other items from their possession.
A case has been registered against the accused while further investigation is underway, he added.
SDPO Saddar Baroni said that the arrested accused would be challaned with solid evidence. Superintendent of Police, Saddar Ahmed Zaneer Cheem appreciated police team and directed to net the accomplices and facilitators of the bike lifters.
Nine busted, drugs
& arms recovered
ISLAMABAD: Capital Cops, during a drive against anti-social elements, arrested nine outlaws in last 24 hours.
Following directions of IGP Islamabad Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, a massive campaign had been launched in the city to curb the criminal activities.
Following these directions, a police team of Bhara Kahu police station arrested four accused namely Waseem Ahmed, Muhammad Khan, Waseem Javed and Shakeel Alias codo and recovered 150 litters alcohol, 2150 grams heroine, four 30 bore pistols along with ammunition and a dagger from their possession.
Similarly, Sabzi Mandi police arrested three accused namely Qari Zahid, Javed and Dolat Khan and recovered two 30 bore pistols along with ammunition, one dagger from their possession. Khanna and Lohi bher police teams arrested two accused Azher Khan and Zaheer Abbass and recovered two 30 bore pistols along with ammunition from their possession. Cases have been registered against the accused and investigation is underway
IGP Islamabad Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan further directed all the zonal officers to intensify this crackdown and arrest those involved in anti social element. Safety and security of the citizens is our prime responsibility and no laxity will be tolerated in this regard, he added.
315 vehicles fined by ICTP for causing environment pollution
ISLAMABAD: As the ban on entry of smoke-emitting vehicles in the Federal Capital came into effect on Tuesday, the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) police fined 315 vehicles for causing environment pollution.
76 smoke emitting and 239 vehicles with pressure horns were fined under the crackdown launched by the ICT police to preserve the environment.
IGP Islamabad Dr Akbar Nasir Khan had announced the ban the other day with special instruction to launch an awareness drive for preserving the environment.
Special enforcement squads have been deployed at major thoroughfares including Islamabad Expressway, IJP Road, Srinagar Highway and others. Social media platforms were also being used to sensitize the motorists about the ban. “Fitness certificates will not be issued to any unfit vehicles and no laxity will be tolerated in implementation of traffic rules,” the IGP was quoted as saying.
