FIA begins the year with E-probes

ISLAMABAD: DG FIA Sanaullah Abbassi, taking revolutionary steps, has decided to equip the force with modern technology. Moreover, it has been decided that the complainants and those giving statements against certain crimes, would be engaged through video conference, for inquiry and investigation.
DG FIA further directed for sending documents required for investigations, through e-mail and WhatsApp. This would in turn help speed up the investigation process. The decision was made regarding the ongoing inquiries and to facilitate those who had been coming from farflung areas to record their statements or register complaints. This would reduce time and save money of the people.
In order to ensure success of this system, Director FIA Islamabad Zone Waqar Ahmad Chohan Waqar Ahmad Chohan has been tasked with the mission. For this purpose, the Investigation Officers of Islamabad Zone have been provided with 80 laptops and internet devices along a day long training. DG FIA has formally inaugurated this modern system at Islamabad Zone.
Moreover, the system has been put to force in all FIA offices across the country. In fact, during such an investigation, Col (Retd) GM Motors Mehran Spices Private Limited Karachi, who could not reach Islamabad from Karachi, with regard to his age and health, his statement was recorded online.
Similarly the statements of Shabbir Ahmad Dhanji, who remains the dealer and owner of Car Dealers Clifton Karachi and Rashid Khurshid Customs Clearance Agent Karachi, who could not come to Islamabad due to their hectic schedule in Karachi, were recorded online.
Moreover, during Corporate Circle investigation, the statement of a senior scientist at an important scientific organization, was also registered online. Similarly, in yet another instance, some Waqar Ahmad’s, resident of Virginia, America, statement was also recorded online.
