KARACHI: Ordering the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to
issue a notice to TV host Waqar Zaka in order to summon him for questioning
in the cryptocurrency case against him, the Sindh High Court (SHC) on
Thursday extended the stay it had granted in the case.

Besides ordering the FIA not to harass Waqar Zaka, the court also directed
the latter to cooperate with the FIA officials in the inquiry.

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), on the occasion, submitted to the
court a written reply in the case against TV host Waqar Zaka.

Justice Muhammad Iqbal Kulhoro was in a state of disbelief when the FIA’s
legal team told him that the TV host was harassing the Agency officials by
uploading videos against them on social media. “How can the defendant harass
the FIA officials,” Justice Kulhoro remarked.

The legal team went on to say that not only he was uploading videos against
the FIA officials, but also against Prime Minister Imran Khan and the State
Bank of Pakistan (SBP).

Maulvi Iqbal Haider, Counsel for Zaka, told the court that the Agency had
not only raided his client’s home but was also harassing him. “Now the bank
accounts of my client as well as his father have also been frozen,” he said,
adding, “However, I assure the court that from now onwards the defendant
will not upload even a single video against any department on social media.”

The court adjourned the hearing of the case until February 17.
