The Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 5 has entered into an exciting phase as cricket fans expect more from their favorite teams in upcoming matches. Teams now have to be more curious to win matches to make their position stable on the points table.
The fifth installment of the league has been fascinating so far for too many reasons. One of those is that the league is taking place completely in Pakistan. Here we have five most eye-catching moments for you from the PSL 5 to date:
Rilee Rossouw’s power show
With exceptional power-hitting skills, complete focus and determination, Rile Rossouw the man in-form not only scored the fastest century in PSL’s history but also won the hearts of fans across the world. Multan Sultans’ middle-order batsman took just 44 balls to score a century and surpassed Cameron Delport’s 49-ball century record in the league.
His power-packed show on Friday in Multan made sure that his team retains the top slot on the points table with eight points.
Jam-packed stadiums
So far so good, people of Pakistan proved that nobody can match their level of supporting cricket. Be it Lahore, Karachi, Rawalpindi or Multan, cricket enthusiasts came in huge numbers to convey a strong message of peace to the world.
The hunger to watch international cricketers at home ground pulled crazy fans to fill stadiums across all four venues which hosted PSL 5 so far. As the tournament progresses, more excitement is building up and the momentum will enhance both for the teams and the fans.
Lethal Naseem Shah
Naseem Shah has once again proved his mettle while bowling at a consistent pace. His age and his pace don’t meet even at a single point as cricket pundits are amazed to watch Shah often touching 145Kph.
His presence in Quetta Gladiators’ camp is fascinating for both his team and viewers in the stadium and across the world. If he keeps on making an impact, he will probably make a place in Pakistan’s squad for ICC T20 World Cup, scheduled later this year.
Kamran Akmal scored third PSL century
Yet again Kamran Akmal didn’t let any chance go away to make an impact with the bat. He celebrated his century for the third time in PSL’s history. He continued dominating the highest run-scorers’ chart having scored 173 runs in four matches so far in this year’s edition.
Azam Khan, the new power-hitting sensation
Azam Khan, the son of former wicket-keeper batsman Moin Khan, has proven the people wrong who called him a ‘Parchi’ for being selected in one of the successful franchises of the PSL, Quetta Gladiators.
Don’t go to his weight because his performance so far in the league has made a lot of people his fan. In five matches, the 21-year-old batsman scored 126 runs with the best of 59 runs.
