Four drown at Karachi’s Manora Beach

KARACHI: The body of one of the four poeple who drowned in the sea at Manora Beach in Karachi was recovered by a rescue team on Wednesday.

According to rescue officials, the deceased was identified as Anas (15) and that his body had been moved to the nearest police station. Meanwhile, the search for remaining missing bodies is ongoing.

Earlier this month, one of three teen friends drowned while taking a swim in the Chenab River’s deep waters at the Qadirabad barrage area on April 9. Two friends were rescued timely by the local swimmers.

Police and Rescue 1122 sources while quoting the family members and eyewitnesses said three teen friends, all residents of Phalia Tehsil went to Chenab River to take bath but started drowning in the river. The locals rushed to the scene and rescued two friends on the spot, but the third one 13-year-old Moazzam remained unlucky and died after drowning.

The Rescue 1122 team carried out a timely operation and recovered the body of the child. The three friends went to the river saying to participate in a Naat party.
