ISLAMABAD: Newly surfaced evidence has revealed that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) spokesperson Raoof Hasan allegedly maintained communication with Indian journalists, furthering an “anti-state agenda.”
According to the details, foreign and Indian lobbies have been actively supporting the PTI founder Imran Khan’s “anti-state agenda.”
Raoof Hasan has been revealed to have shocking WhatsApp communications, first with American Ryan Grim and later with Indian journalist Karan Thapar.
On November 19, 2022, Raoof Hasan, in his capacity as PTI’s Media Coordinator, officially reached out to Indian journalist Karan Thapar. In their initial WhatsApp exchange, Thapar inquired about a potential interview with PTI senior leader Shah Mahmood Qureshi.
On November 24, 2022, Karan Thapar shared his YouTube interview with Raoof Hasan, which included comments by Rana Banerji, former Secretary of India’s Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), regarding Pakistan’s current Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir.
In the interview, Thapar described General Munir as a more hardline leader from India’s perspective. The following day, Thapar sent another interview concerning the army chief to Hasan, who responded by disparaging the Pakistani journalist involved and shared sensitive information about the army chief with Thapar.
Reliable sources confirm that in a February 2023 WhatsApp message, Raoof Hasan praised India’s stance on the Ukraine issue while strongly criticising Pakistan’s position.
Hasan stated, “India’s stance is understandable given its desire to remain neutral.”
Criticising Pakistan further, Hasan told Thapar, “Pakistan’s position is shocking. Despite abstaining from voting at the UN, there are reports that Pakistan is supplying weapons to Ukraine.”
In March 2023, Hasan sent inflammatory messages to Thapar, labelling the arrests made at Imran Khan’s residence as state violence and claiming, “Pakistan appears ready for a bloody revolution.”
Reliable sources also confirm that on May 10, 2023, Raoof Hasan recorded an interview with Karan Thapar via Zoom.
The following day, Hasan exaggerated routine military movements in Pakistan, stating, “Complete military movement is being observed on Pakistan’s streets and alleys,” and provocatively suggested, “We are passing through an undeclared martial law era.”
Defence experts have expressed deep concern over Hasan’s reckless WhatsApp communications with Karan Thapar, viewing them as a treasure trove of information for the RAW operatives behind Thapar.
The PTI spokesperson allegedly passed sensitive information to an Indian journalist, aiding anti-Pakistan propaganda efforts.
These WhatsApp messages also confirm that Raoof Hasan encouraged Karan Thapar to promote negative narratives against Pakistan’s military.
According to defence experts, the goal of sharing sensitive information was to use it as propaganda against the state in Indian media. –Agencies
