Friendly cricket match held between Islamabad, Canadian Police

ISLAMABAD: Following the special directions of the IGP Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, a friendly cricket match was organized between Islamabad Police and Canadian Police at Police Lines Headquarters Islamabad to promote healthy activities.
Canada’s High Commissioner to Pakistan, Leslie Scanlon, attended the event as the chief guest. The event was also attended by Chief Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Ali Randhawa, IG Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, members of the Chamber of Commerce, senior officials of Islamabad Police, Canadian diplomats, players, event organizers, and a large number of police personnel.


During the match, Canadian police won the toss and decided to bat first, setting a target of 169 runs with 7 wickets down in twenty overs. The Islamabad Police team chased the target and achieved it in 18 overs, with 7 wickets down, securing a victory. At the end of the match, the chief guest and IGP Islamabad distributed shields among the players and awarded the winning team with a trophy.
On the occasion, IGP Islamabad said that the purpose of the cricket match was to strengthen friendly ties between the police departments of both countries, benefiting from shared experiences in crime prevention and promoting peace and security.
He also emphasized that the event was meant to encourage police officers to engage in healthy activities while promoting their mental and physical development.
He further added that sports enhance personality, strengthen character, and promote a healthier society. He assured that similar sporting activities would continue in the future.
