LAHORE: The “FUN RUN” for the Hangzhou Asian Games 2022 organized by the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) was held in Lahore on Monday.
As a time-honoured Asian Games tradition, Fun Run’s goal is to attract more publicity to the host city and bring together hundreds of participants from different fields, including national athletes, sports enthusiasts and students and community members from across Pakistan.
Syed Arif Hasan, President of the Pakistan Olympic Association (POA), said in a video speech that the Pakistan Olympic Committee and the Pakistani people are very pleased to host this event.
The Asian Games are not just a sporting event, but also a grand meeting of the Asian continent, where the values of friendship and excellence are celebrated.
Zhou Jian, Manager of the Media and Broadcasting Department of OCA, and Wissam Trkmani, Project and Operations Manager of OCA, also participated in this event.
“The event fully demonstrated Pakistan’s expectations for the Hangzhou Asian Games,” said Wissam Trkmani, “Asia is a very colourful continent and the Asian Games is a festival of diversity.”
Chief Guest at the Fun Run, Administrator DHA Lahore Brigadier Waheed Gul Satti noted he would like to extend his best wishes to all the athletes who will participate in the Hangzhou Asian Games, which will be held from September 23 to October 8.
Pang Chunxue, Chargé d’affaires ad interim of the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan and the Vice Mayor of Hangzhou Chen Weiqiang also recorded a congratulatory video for the “Fun Run”.
