ISLAMABAD: Funeral prayer of Islamabad Police Assistant Sub-Inspector Sudheer Ahmad Abbasi, who was martyred in the line of duty was offered at Police Lines Headquarters. A large number of senior police officers, the Deputy Commissioner Islamabad and officers and personnel from the police and district administration attended the funeral prayer.
Senior officers laid floral wreaths on the martyr’s coffin, offered prayers for his soul and expressed condolences to his family.
A smartly turned-out contingent of Islamabad Police presented a salute to the martyr. Martyred body was later sent to his native village with full honors. Martyr ASI Sudheer Ahmad Abbasi was a professional and fearless investigation officer. The Islamabad Police CIA team conducted a raid in the Industrial Area jurisdiction to arrest dacoits.
During the raid, the dacoits opened indiscriminate fire on the police team from all directions. The police officers bravely confronted the dacoits. ASI Sudheer Ahmad Abbasi was martyred in the exchange of fire, while Constable Jafar Jahangir was seriously injured and was shifted to the hospital for treatment.
To arrest the culprits, three senior SSPs are currently leading operations in various parts of the city.
IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi stated that Islamabad Police will fully support the martyr’s family in every possible way.
He further emphasized that every officer of Islamabad Police is committed to their duty and will not hesitate to make any sacrifice. The martyr’s sacrifice will not be forgotten, IGP added.
