Funeral prayers offered for martyred ASI

ISLAMABAD: Funeral prayers for martyred Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Maqsood Ali Khan of Islamabad Police were offered at Police Lines Headquarters, Islamabad. IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, along with senior police officers and officials, attended the funeral prayers.
A smartly turned-out contingent of Islamabad Police presented a salute to the martyr. IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi laid a floral wreath on the martyr’s body and offered prayers for the elevation of his ranks in the hereafter. The martyr’s mortal remains were subsequently transported to his native area for burial with full official honours.
Martyred ASI Maqsood Ali Khan was serving in Islamabad Traffic Police. He sustained critical injuries in a traffic accident while performing his official duties and later succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi said that the sacrifice of police officials who lay down their lives in the line of duty would always be remembered with the utmost respect. He said that the martyrs of Islamabad Police are a precious asset of the department and their sacrifices can never be forgotten.
IGP Islamabad said that Islamabad Police would not leave the family of the martyr alone and would extend all possible support and assistance to them. He directed the concerned officers to ensure the welfare of the martyr’s family and provide every possible assistance in resolving their issues.
He further said that the department would continue to stand by the families of its martyrs and take all necessary measures for their welfare and well-being.
