ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Lohi Bher police team has arrested a gang of five accused who were involved in looting hitchhikers.
IGP Islamabad Muhammad Ahsan had strictly directed all zonal officers to arrest the accused involved in looting people using public service vehicles. Following these orders, SP Rural Zia Uddin assigned a task to the officers of rural zone.
Following his directions, a team under the supervision of SDPO Sihala Beenish Fatima headed by SHO Lohi Bher SI Mamtaz Baig with other officials arrested five accused Abdul Javed Akhtar, Maqsood Khan, Syed Dilawar, Gulshan Bibi and Parween of a gang who used to loot citizens by giving them lift on vehicles and offering their vehicles for public service. Police team also recovered weapons and looted cash from their possession. The accused have confessed their involvement in several cases of looting citizens in twin cities. IGP Islamabad Muhammad Ahsan Younas appreciated the efforts of the police party and further directed to intensify the security and arrest those involved in looting people.
