Gang of street criminals busted

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Golra police have arrested five accused of a notorious baji criminal gang involved in numerous incidents of street crimes in posh sectors.
Following orders of the IGP Islamabad Muhammad Ahsan Younas a massive crackdown against criminal elements is on full swing.
Following the orders, SP Saddar Zone Tassawar Iqbal constituted special police teams to arrest those involved in street crimes and recover the looted items. One of the golra police team under supervision of SDPO Saddar Raja Tahir Hussain headed by SHO Golra SI Nadeem Tahir along with other officials busted a notorious baji gang. the accused were identified as Abdul Rehman alias Ali shah, Mehran alias Imran, Qaisar Abbas alias bali, Muhammad Asfan alias kaka and Tauqeer Husaain.
Police team has also recovered looted mobile phones, cash and weapons used in crime. During the preliminary investigation the accused have confessed their involvement in numerous incidents of street crimes in areas of sector D-12, E-11, G-10 etc. Several cases against the accused have been registered in different police station and further investigation is underway. IGP Islamabad Muhammad Ahsan Younas has appreciated this performance of the Gorla police team and further directed to all the zonal officers to intensify the security in their relevant area. He said Islamabad police is committed to eradicate the crime from the city and no stone would be unturned in this regard.
