German medical workers arrive in Tashkent

Tashkent: A group of 10 medical specialists from Germany arrived in Uzbekistan on Friday to assist doctors in the fight against the spread of coronavirus, the press service of the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan reported.
Head of the delegation of the Robert Koch Institute, Deputy Director of the International Health Center, Director of the International Health Information Center, Dr. Andreas Jansen said that the purpose of the visit is to assist Uzbek colleagues in the situation caused by the spread of coronavirus in the country.
β€œTo learn more about the healthcare system of Uzbekistan and how it functions during a pandemic, we will get acquainted with the organization of the ambulance service, the methods of laboratory work, the possibilities of clinics for treating patients with coronavirus, as well as the conditions in primary medical facilities. We will exchange successful experiences and give our recommendations. Along with this, it is envisaged to develop, together with authorized structures, effective approaches in the fight against COVID-2019. We also plan to explore the possibilities of establishing bilateral cooperation with the relevant medical centers, institutions and research institutes,” Robert Koch said.
The delegation of 10 doctors included leading experts from the Robert Koch Institute, highly qualified doctors from the university hospitals in Frankfurt am Main and Dusseldorf, as well as representatives of the Regional Office for Europe of the World Health Organization. – Agencies
