ISLAMABAD: Chairman Senate Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on Wednesday inaugurated the balloting process for a Hajj facility for two Senate Secretariat employees in BPS-01 to BPS-07, generously sponsored by Senator Amir Waliuddin Chishti.
The balloting ceremony was held at the Senator Service Centre, Parliament House, Islamabad, and was attended by Senator Syed Masroor Ahsan, Senator Rahat Jamali, Senator Amir Waliuddin Chishti, Secretary Senate Syed Hasnain Haider, senior officials of the Senate Secretariat, and a large number of employees.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman Senate Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani said that Hajj is one of the fundamental pillars of Islam and a profound act of worship.
He said that every Muslim cherishes the desire to visit the sacred House of Allah and have the honour of performing Hajj.
He added that Hajj is a means of seeking Allah Almighty’s pleasure and closeness, and attaining the opportunity to perform this sacred obligation is a matter of great joy and honour for every Muslim.
The Chairman Senate warmly congratulated the two fortunate employees selected through the balloting and extended his best wishes to them and their families.
He expressed hope that they would undertake their sacred journey with devotion and return with the blessings of Allah Almighty.
The Chairman Senate also expressed his special appreciation to Senator Amir Waliuddin Chishti for sponsoring the Hajj facility for the lower-grade employees of the Senate Secretariat.
He termed the initiative a commendable welfare-oriented gesture, saying that such measures not only encourage and support employees but also provide them with opportunities to fulfil important religious obligations.
On the occasion, Senator Amir Waliuddin Chishti also donated Rs. one million to the Senate Employees Welfare Fund, reaffirming his commitment to the welfare and well-being of Senate Secretariat employees.
