ISLAMABAD: IGP Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, presided over important meetings across all zones of Islamabad Police late at night. The meetings were attended by senior police officers.
During the meetings, IGP Islamabad reviewed the performance of police officers. Due to poor performance, SHO Sihala was demoted to ASI, and the incharge investigation Koral was closed from his duties and ordered to report to Police Lines for not fulfilling the investigative requirements.
Meanwhile, DSP Investigation Soan zone and SDPO Koral were asked to clarify their weak performance. IG Islamabad announced commendation certificates and cash prize of rupees one lakh for SHO Humak and incharge investigation Humak for demonstrating excellent performance and effectively carrying out their assigned duties.
He issued clear directions to all officers, emphasizing that crime control should be carried out with a spirit of public service. He said that only officers who demonstrate good performance in crime prevention would remain in their positions, while those showing negligence and lack of responsibility would face strict accountability.
He further said that poor public service, weak crime fighting, ineffective patrolling, failure to apprehend wanted criminals, inability to trace cases, and failure to meet professional policing standards would lead to strict departmental actions against officers.
All officers are strictly directed to focus on crime fighting and perform their duties well.
Those who perform well will be rewarded.
Therefore, all officers should work with a sense of public service and use all available resources to ensure the safety and protection of citizens’ lives and property, he added.
