ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting, Lt. Gen (retd) Asim Saleem Bajwa said Tuesday that the government has approved establishment of three border markets as pilot projects.
The three markets were part of 18 projects already approved by the government, he tweeted adding that the markets would be set up in Mand and Gabd in Balochistan and Shaheedano Dan in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He said that these projects would transform local economies, check smuggling and formalise trade with neighbours.Bajwa said that Prime Minister has been emphasizing focus on earlier neglected areas for the integration of remote areas.

While, The National Highway Authority (NHA) has invited bids for the construction of Hoshab-Awaran-Khuzdar section (146 kms) of M-8 motorway. Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Lt. Gen (retd) Asim Saleem Bajwa on Sunday informed that the tender for the project had been opened and the project would bring prosperity in the Southern areas of the Balochistan province.
He said the project would improve connectivity of Gwadar Port, and revolutionise socio-economic development of the region.
Asim who is also Chairman China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Authority said on twitter that with the construction of the motorway, long term deprivation of the local people would be addressed who were waiting for such development for decades.
Also, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Lt Gen (retd) Asim Saleem Bajwa on Wednesday said collaboration of central and provincial governments for development of Balochistan would transform the region and bring prosperity for the locals.
Asim Bajwa, who is also Chairman of the CPEC Authority, said in a tweet, “As Gwadar City and Port is coming up fast, an unprecedented level of seriousness (is being shown) by the governments in Islamabad and Quetta for uplifting South Balochistan.”
Earlier, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting and Chairman China Pakistan Economic Corridor, Lt. Gen (retd) Asim Saleem Bajwa on Tuesday said 250 new jobs had been announced for Orange Line Train project.
