Greed for power

By S E Alam

The old generation which was infancy at the time of creation of Pakistan is wondering as to what happened to the State, founder of which was an honest steadfast upright and a true Muslim.
Not a single person having his qualities ever succeeded him. Major General Iskander Mirza went thrown out of office was working in a London restaurant as assistant manager till his death.
Another bureaucrat Chaudhry Muhamamd Ali had no spot on his name even the names of the leaders who belong to East Pakistan such as Khawaja Nazimuddin, Nurul Amin, Hussain Shaheed Suhrawardy had no scars.
The people of East Pakistan had given their seats to Liaqat Ali Khan, Sardar Abdur Rab Nishtar, Khan Abdul Qayyum Khan and many more. It was their love for us, the present day Pakistanis.
The lust for money, greed for power changed the fate of Pakistan. The Sindh assembly was the first to adopt Pakistan resolution. What Bengal assembly and the people of that state did for Pakistan is known to everyone. Who was the last to accept Pakistan we all know. It was Punjab which was under the thumb of feudalist’s lords. And even today after almost 70 years still remains in their clutches.
Nothing has been done for education of the masses those who can sign their names or described as literate people. What to talk of the girls, even boys are not being any facilities for even primary education. The world is moving fast forward and the poor people of Pakistan are being kept far away from schools and knowledge.
The Holy Prophet (PBUH) is quoted by the leaders to continue being slaves but never quoted for his directives to get education and for this a Muslim should even travel to china.
This generation of mine will go away but what we are leaving behind for the posterity is nothing but hopelessness and dismay
