BEIJING: Green electricity generated from renewable sources in southwest China’s Xizang Autonomous Region will begin powering facilities in Beijing starting Jan. 1, 2025, according to a purchase deal reached on Tuesday.
Four companies in Beijing purchased green electricity from 13 new-energy power generation enterprises in Xizang.
“The channeling of green electricity into Beijing will better meet the city’s demand for green energy consumption and, at the same time, boost the absorption of new energy generated in Xizang, thereby contributing to local economic and social development,” Zhang said. –Agencies
