Guangdong donates over 80,000 kits

GUANGZHOU: South China’s Guangdong Province has donated more than 80,000 testing kits to countries including Iran, Japan, Iraq and Peru, provincial officials said at a press conference on Thursday.
The testing kits were all made by technology companies in Guangdong, according to Gong Guoping, deputy head of the provincial department of science and technology. The testing kits made in the province have been put into use in 26 countries and regions across the world, Gong said. The province has also sent out medical experts to Iraq to assist local medical teams to fight against the novel coronavirus. Local technology and research enterprises and institutes have also been working on developing reusable face masks to cope with the shortage of masks, Gong added. – Agencies
