Lahore: Senior fast bowler Umar Gul feels honored to take up his new role as a member of the cricket committee announced by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
The 35-year-old is still playing competitive cricket and will be working along with his cricket commitments. Gul took on Twitter and wrote that it is a pleasure for him to impart his knowledge for the betterment of Pakistan cricket structure in the future.
Umar Gul last played for Pakistan in 2016 in Cardiff against England. In the recently concluded Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, he represented Northern, the finalist of the tournament.
He also plays different leagues around the globe and lrecently played in Qatar T10 league.
It must be noted that earlier today, PCB announced the new cricket committee members which will be led by former left-arm spinner Iqbal Qasim.
Former captain Wasim Akram, former women’s team captain Urooj Mumtaz, Umar Gul and Ali Naqvi are part of the cricket committee members.
In addition, PCB Chief Executive Wasim Khan and Director – International Cricket, Zakir Khan, will serve as co-opted members.
The revamped cricket committee will function to give advice to the PCB chairman Ehsan Mani on cricket-related matters.
