Human trafficking gang busted

Mirpur: The arrest of a foreign girl in Mirpur, Azad Kashmir, has unveiled a disturbing case where the individual came to Pakistan disguised as a boy, engaged in marriages with local girls, and subsequently sold them abroad.
The arrest followed an application filed by the family of one victim who had fallen prey to this deceptive scheme.
During the investigation, it was revealed that the accused, identified as Nargis, would assume the identity of a boy to establish relationships with girls. After the marriage, Nargis would take the brides abroad and sell them. The victim’s family filed a complaint with the police, leading to the registration of a case and subsequent arrest.
Muhammad Ramzan, the head of the victim’s family, shared details of the deceptive scheme, stating that Nargis had portrayed herself as Shaaban and initiated a relationship in the guise of a boy. After marriage, the daughter was sent to France via Dubai after obtaining a visa, only for the family to discover later that the supposed son-in-law was, in fact, a girl.
According to Ramzan, the daughter faced torture at the hands of the criminal gang and was subjected to attempted sales in various locations. Eventually, the family managed to relocate their daughter to a safe place in France.
Upon Nargis’s return to AJK in search of her next victim, the victim’s family recognised her and promptly filed a complaint with the police, leading to her arrest. –Agencies
