ISLAMABAD: To ensure the availability of pure milk in the federal capital, the Islamabad Food Authority (IFA) held a detailed meeting with the Fresh Milk Association to address quality standards, distribution issues, and ongoing actions against adulteration.
Deputy Director of the Islamabad Food Authority, Dr. Tahira Siddique, chaired a meeting with a delegation of the Fresh Milk Association to review the quality and supply of milk in the city.
During the session, representatives of the association shared their concerns about milk distribution and market challenges. They appreciated the authority’s recent operations against adulteration networks that have been endangering public health.
Dr. Tahira assured the delegation that the authority would take immediate steps to resolve the problems faced by milk sellers.
She also distributed written guidelines in Urdu to ensure compliance with hygiene and quality standards.
The meeting also discussed the demand and supply of milk, emphasizing the importance of maintaining quality at all stages. Members of the Milk Association pledged to follow all food safety laws and ensure the sale of pure milk to consumers.
Dr. Siddique stated that protecting citizens’ health is the top priority of the Food Authority. She reaffirmed that the IFA will ensure the provision of pure and safe milk in all circumstances.
She further warned that strict action would be taken against those involved in adulteration or violating food laws — including fines, sealing of businesses, cancellation of licenses, and registration of criminal cases.
