ISLAMABAD: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Qazi Jameelur Rehman has directed to ensure the protection of life and property of citizens by making the patrolling effective.
A high level meeting was held with IGP Islamabad in chair. The meeting reviewed security arrangements on Eidul Adha. During the meeting, DIG Operations Islamabad Afzaal Ahmad Kausar was directed to monitor the security arrangements for Eid.
The IG Islamabad also directed DG Safe City to monitor the situation on Eid with the help of security cameras across the district. During the meeting, AIG Special Branch was directed to complete security arrangements including installing walk-through gates at mosques and imambargahs, while SSP Traffic has been given instructions to issue special traffic plan to maintain traffic flow across the district. Qazi Jameel-ur-Rehman said that foolproof security arrangements should be made for all the mosques and Imambargahs during Eid prayers and also directed to ensure implementation of government SOPs in mosques, imambargahs and cattle markets.
He further directed to deploy additional force at markets, shopping centers and entertainment venues to ensure safety of life and property of the citizens. “Entrance and exit routes will be closely monitored to prevent any untoward incident,” he maintained.
