IGP all out for resolving public grievances

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police is taking all efforts to curb the crime from the city and taking strict action against land mafia in the city.
IGP Islamabad Muhammad Ahsan Younas said this while listening public complaints during khuli kacheri held at central police office. 20 citizens and police officials attended the khuli kachehri.
The IGP listened to the complaints of the citizens and directed concerned officers to resolve immediately and purely on merit. He marked one application of a citizen to the internal accountability unit for thorough inquiry.
On a citizen’s complaint, he ordered the investigation officer of the case to arrest the accused in four days and submit a report adding that the officer would be punished showing laxity in this regard.
A woman came to thank IGP for resolving her matter on priority and on merit. The IGP also ordered Rs. 10,000 to the police officials as welfare.
Muhammad Ahsan Younas said that it is our prime responsibility to provide protection to the lives and property of the citizens and resolve their problems on priority. He ordered the zonal officers to intensify the crackdown against land grabbers adding that no one will be allowed to grab the property of the innocent people. He said that interaction with people also ensures accountability of the policemen and they should address public complaints on merit by considering them their own issues adding that the positive image of policemen should be ensured before them through unbiased approach towards anyone.
Islamabad police chief hoped that interaction during ‘open kacheries’ would help to promote friendly policing. Such interactions with citizens are aimed to promote community policing, resolve the issues of people at their door steps through merit and curb activities of anti-social elements, he added.
