ISLAMABAD: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi held a high-level meeting at the Central Police Office Islamabad. The meeting was attended by all DIGs, SSPs and SPs of Islamabad Police.
During the meeting, IGP Islamabad reviewed the comprehensive security plan for the city, including security measures at Eid congregations, cattle markets, recreational spots and commercial centers. He directed all officers to strengthen monitoring, snap checks and patrolling throughout the district to ensure the safety and security of citizens’ lives and property.
During Eid-ul-Adha, over 3,500 officers and personnel will be performing security duties in the federal capital. A special security plan has been devised for the chand raat focusing on markets, shopping centers, cattle markets and other commercial areas, ensuring robust security.
Security personnel will also patrol on foot, in vehicles and on motorcycles. Strict checking will be implemented at the city’s entry and exit points. IGP Islamabad instructed all officers to ensure surveillance through Safe City cameras to monitor activities across the district effectively.
He also emphasized making the performance of the help desks set up to assist citizens more effective and ensuring a quick response to citizens’ complaints. All control rooms should be operational and communication systems should be enhanced.
The security of important buildings and places of worship will remain a priority. Surprise checkpoints will be established in various parts of the city, and checking will be intensified. All patrolling units, Dolphin Force, Ababeel Emergency Response Units will further strengthen patrolling in all areas of the city.
IGP Islamabad further said that, the safety and well-being of citizens, along with providing them every possible convenience is our top priority. All officers must ensure check and balance over their subordinates and motivate them.
Simultaneously, steps will be taken for the welfare of the force during Eid. Our primary duty is to protect the lives and property of Islamabad’s citizens and maintain law and order, he added.
