ISLAMABAD: IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi and Chief Commissioner Islamabad Sohail Ashraf visited various areas and major roads of the federal capital during rainfall to assess the traffic situation and review arrangements for the safety and convenience of citizens.
During the field visit, the officers inspected traffic flow, road conditions, and the movement of citizens at major roads, key intersections, and rain-affected areas. The IGP Islamabad also received updates from the concerned officers regarding traffic management arrangements and the challenges arising from the rainfall.
IGP Islamabad directed the relevant teams to remain fully alert and utilize all available resources to ensure smooth traffic flow, facilitate citizens, and promptly remove any obstruction caused by rainwater or other factors. He emphasized that coordinated and timely action should be taken to minimize inconvenience to the public.
Traffic on all major roads of Islamabad is currently flowing normally. In areas where rainwater has accumulated, the relevant teams are actively working to facilitate drainage and maintain the smooth movement of traffic. Traffic police and other field teams are continuously monitoring the situation and responding promptly wherever required.
IGP Islamabad directed all officers to remain present in their respective areas and ensure maximum assistance to citizens during the rainfall. He further ordered that an immediate and effective response be ensured to any emergency, traffic accident, or distress call.
He said that the protection of citizens’ lives and property and the provision of a safe and convenient travelling environment remain among the foremost priorities of Islamabad Police. He directed officers and personnel to perform their duties with vigilance, professionalism, and a strong sense of responsibility, particularly during challenging weather conditions.
IGP Islamabad also emphasized close coordination among all relevant departments and directed officers to continuously assess the situation and deploy additional personnel and resources wherever necessary. He stressed that every possible measure should be taken to ensure that citizens face minimum inconvenience during the rainfall.
Islamabad Police teams remain actively deployed across the federal capital to facilitate citizens, maintain smooth traffic flow, address rain-related issues, and respond effectively to any emergency situation.
Islamabad Police has appealed to citizens to avoid unnecessary travel during heavy rainfall, drive cautiously, follow traffic rules, and immediately contact the police in case of any accident, difficulty, or emergency.
