IGP chairs command conference at Safe City

ISLAMABAD: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, chaired a command conference at Safe City Islamabad. The conference was attended by all DIGs, SSPs, AIGs, and SPs of the Islamabad Police.

During the conference, the five divisions of the Islamabad Police presented their performance reports, while the DIGs of each division briefed the attendees on their security plans related to August 13 and 14. The Traffic Division also gave a briefing on traffic arrangements for upcoming events.
IGP Islamabad appreciated the crime-fighting efforts of the newly appointed SP City, Salman Zafar, and congratulated him on his achievements.
On this occasion, he stated that the crackdown on proclaimed offenders and habitual criminals is ongoing and being intensified. Due to effective strategies, incidents of car and motorcycle theft have significantly decreased in the federal capital.
Similarly, special checkpoints and patrols are proving effective in preventing street crimes, and Safe City Islamabad is playing a key role in both crime prevention and maintaining traffic discipline. He further stated that large-scale search and combing operations are being conducted across Islamabad, and these efforts will continue in various parts of the city. Additionally, a comprehensive security plan for Independence Day celebrations has been issued.
The IGP issued clear instructions to all officers, stating that any form of disorder, fireworks, aerial firing, or one-wheeling during the Independence Day celebrations will not be tolerated anywhere in the federal capital. Strict legal action will be taken against violators.
Likewise, the possession and display of illegal weapons will not be tolerated under any circumstances in Islamabad, and strict action will be taken against offenders.
He also directed all DIGs to personally supervise the security arrangements for important events and instructed the DG Safe City to develop additional applications to improve public services.
He emphasized that by utilizing modern techniques, maximum facilities should be provided to citizens across all platforms. The maintenance of law and order, the prevention of crime, and the protection of citizens’ lives and property remain the top priorities of the Islamabad Police.
