ISLAMABAD: Inspector General of Police Islamabad Muhammad Ahsan Younas on Friday announced rewarding honorarium and commendatory certificates to more than 4500 cops deputed in different divisions, for showing outstanding performance and taking risks in the line of duty.
The cash prizes and commendatory certificates to be awarded to the cops of Eagle Squad, officials of all the police stations, Counter Terrorism Department, Islamabad Traffic Police and Safe City Projects for providing extra ordinary security to Australian cricket team during its visit to Pakistan, curbing crime and serving the citizens round the clock in Police Service Centre, he added. The step is being taken by the capitol police chief to boost up the moral of cops of Islamabad Police.
According to him, the IGP Muhammad Ahsan Younas has summoned the suggestions and recommendations from the high up about the cops serving in all the divisions, units, police stations and sub offices to scrutinize their performance. In the light of recommendations of senior police officers, the top cop has announced to award cash prizes and commendatory certificates to the cops over best performance.
The capital police chief is going to award prizes and commendatory certificates to cops over best performance for the first time in the history of Islamabad and it will be a tradition of the Islamabad police to encourage brave officials of the force. Prizes are being given to committed and honest officials of Eagle Squad who are combating street crime round the clock. Similarly, the cops who are serving in police stations and were being neglected in the post would also be awarded prizes and certificates.
Moreover, more than 1300 officials of Special Branch and Security Division of Islamabad police will get the honorarium approved by the IGP.
The officials of Police Service Centre also included in the list for facilitating the citizens under one roof for 24 hours in a week.
Over 500 cops of CTD and Safe City besides 802 officials of ITP would also be awarded prizes and certificates on the orders of IGP Islamabad Muhammad Ahsan.
