ISLAMABAD: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi has directed senior police officers to ensure enhanced security in the federal capital Islamabad and take comprehensive measures for crime prevention.
In this regard, IGP Islamabad instructed officers to adopt effective strategies to maintain law and order, protect private and public property and ensure the safety of citizens lives and property by utilizing all available resources.
IGP Islamabad also directed officers to improve checking at the entry points of the Red Zone and ensure the security of important institutions, offices and embassies located in the Red Zone.
He emphasized that the entire federal capital surveillance including entry and exit points should be monitored via Safe City cameras.
Furthermore, IGP Islamabad issued orders for strong measures to combat crime in the federal capital. He instructed all officers to take immediate and effective action through the use of modern technology and the exchange of intelligence to curb drug trafficking and other serious crimes.
Additionally, officers were ordered to ensure the resolution of pending investigations based on merit, submit well-supported challans to relevant courts and work towards securing the maximum possible sentences for criminals.
He further stated that, the arrest of members of criminal gangs who have not yet been apprehended must also be ensured and efforts should be intensified to arrest wanted criminals.
Protection of citizens lives and property is our top priority and no negligence in this regard will be tolerated, he added.
