IGP directs for technology-driven policing

ISLAMABAD: IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi held an important meeting at the Central Police Office. The meeting was attended by DIG Operations Muhammad Jawad Tariq, DG Safe City Shakir Hussain Dawar, SSP Operations Shoaib Khan and other senior officers.


On this occasion, the IGP Islamabad had a detailed discussion on crime prevention, improvement in the investigation system, modern methods of surveillance and the overall law and order situation.
He issued directives to make the investigation of cases more effective and to arrest the absconding accused in ongoing investigations.
IGP Islamabad emphasized that the investigation process should be equipped with modern technology in accordance with the changing times.
All officers must resolve pending cases on merit. The renewal of the investigation wing aims to complete the investigation process promptly and on merit and to investigate criminal cases more effectively so that a tighter grip can be maintained on criminal elements making it possible to eliminate crime from society, IGP said.
While giving further instructions he said that modern techniques should be used to enhance the effectiveness of Safe City cameras and improve the surveillance and monitoring system across the city.
With the help of these cameras a stronger grip should be maintained on criminal elements and the security of the entire district should be ensured. He further stated that the services of Safe City Islamabad should be improved and its scope expanded.
Alongside this, IGP Islamabad directed the officers to serve the public with a spirit of dedication and to provide every possible assistance to the citizens.
He emphasized that the protection of life and property of the citizens and providing them with all necessary facilities is the top priority of Islamabad Police.
