IGP focusing on crime prevention, counter-terrorism

ISLAMABAD: IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, inspected the ongoing drills at the Police Lines Headquarters. Along with him were DIG Headquarters Malik Jameel Zafar, AIG Logistics Abdul Haque Umarani, and other senior police officers.
During the drills, the police contingents presented a disciplined and determined march past. IGP Islamabad praised the discipline, coordination, and professional skills of the officers and stated that such drills promote discipline, physical fitness, and teamwork within the force.
He also provided necessary instructions for further improvement. Furthermore, under the chairmanship of IGP Islamabad, an important meeting was held with DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq, DIG Headquarters, and other police officers.
During the meeting, IGP Islamabad reviewed the law and order situation in the capital, the enforcement of law, patrols, search operations, and target operations for crime prevention, as well as measures against drugs and illegal weapons. He issued necessary directives to all officers to take effective action against criminal elements and ensure the protection of citizens’ lives and property.
IGP Islamabad also held an important meeting with SSP CTD Muhammad Arslan Shahzeb, where they reviewed counter-terrorism measures and intelligence-based operations. During the meeting, he instructed SSP CTD to further enhance counter-terrorism measures by fully utilizing modern technology and intelligence.
He emphasized the need to strengthen intelligence sources at all levels to prevent any terrorist activity in a timely manner. IG Islamabad also held a meeting with SSP Operations, Qazi Ali Raza, where they reviewed field operations, response time, and the improvement of public services.
He stated, the police force’s objective is not only to prevent crime but also to ensure public service. For this, it is crucial to provide public services and ensure the immediate and effective performance of field operations.
He further instructed all officers to improve their response time to address public issues promptly and to strengthen interactions with citizens to enhance their cooperation. Additionally, he emphasized that the police force should work with the public to better crime prevention and improve citizens’ services.
