IGP for boosting public engagement, security measures

ISLAMABAD: IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, chaired an important meeting focused on law and order and modern policing. The meeting was attended by DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq, SSP Operations, SSP CTD, and DSP CIA.
During the meeting, the IGP Islamabad reviewed measures to enhance community policing, projects underway to facilitate citizens, and the overall security situation.
He also issued special instructions to expedite steps for direct public engagement so that both security and convenience can be improved in Islamabad.
On the occasion, he directed all officers to formulate special strategies to eliminate serious crimes. He emphasized ensuring an effective crackdown on those involved in robbery, street crime, and other offenses through the use of modern technology and all available resources.
He ordered strict action to ensure the arrest of court absconders and proclaimed offenders, as well as action against those providing them shelter.
He further directed indiscriminate action against vehicles without number plates and those with tinted windows. Issuing additional instructions, he said that Dolphin squad patrols must be made more effective to curb criminal elements.
He added that the presence of police officers should create a sense of security for citizens and fear for criminals, while protecting the lives and property of the public remains the top priority of Islamabad Police.
