IGP gives Rs 10 million in appreciation to police teams

ISLAMABAD: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi and DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq awarded cash rewards totaling Rs. 10 million and certificates of appreciation to the police teams that successfully solved the kidnapping of a 3-year-old child, Ishtiaq Abbasi murder case, the double murder of two women and the Hamza murder case.


A formal ceremony was held to honor officers at Police Lines Headquarters. The ceremony was attended by IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, all divisional DIGs, SSPs, SPs and other police officers and personnel.
Earlier this year, a citizen named Ishtiaq Abbasi was killed by drug dealers in the jurisdiction of Khanna police station. Similarly, two women were murdered in the Lohi Bher police station area, while a case of abduction of a youth named Hamza was registered at Aabpara police station. Moreover, a 3-year-old child was abducted from the jurisdiction of Margalla police station.
Taking serious notice of these high-profile cases, the IGP Islamabad formed police teams under the supervision of DIG Islamabad and the leadership of SSP Operations, SSP Investigations and SSP CTD.
These teams worked tirelessly and managed to arrest all accused involved in the murder cases in a short span of time. Furthermore, the 3-year-old kidnapped child was safely recovered and handed over to his parents, while the abductors were also apprehended.
IGP Islamabad praised the efforts and performance of all officers and personnel. He said, “We are thankful to Almighty Allah for these recent successes of Islamabad Police, which strengthened our ranks and enabled us to work diligently and achieve results. These successes are not just of Islamabad Police but a shared achievement of all law enforcement agencies across Pakistan.”
He added, you should all be proud because Allah has blessed you with the abilities to analyze and act swiftly. Your eyes that stay awake for 72 hours, your steps that travel to other provinces to solve cases, your courage, hard work and teamwork. All these efforts are unmatched and it is due to these qualities that you achieve such remarkable results.
He paid tribute to the police teams for their successful handling of abduction, ransom, murder and other cases and the arrest of those involved. All officers and personnel present expressed pride in receiving the rewards and certificates and reaffirmed their commitment to perform their duties with the same dedication and passion in the future.
