IGP holds meeting with foreign diplomats, regional security officers

ISLAMABAD: IGP Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi chaired a meeting with foreign diplomats and regional security officers of embassies at Diplomatic Enclave.
SSP Security Division and other police officers were also present during the occasion. During the meeting, the IGP briefed the foreign diplomats and embassies regional security officers about the steps taken by Islamabad Police to ensure foolproof security arrangements around the diplomatic enclave and other embassies located outside the diplomatic enclave.
Furthermore, a Police Khidmat Markaz will be established in the Diplomatic Enclave where citizens will be provided with all the necessary facilities related to the police under one roof.
The IGP highlighted the continuous enhancement of security measures at the diplomatic enclave through modern technology. He asserted that, as part of these efforts the protective barrier of the diplomatic enclave is reconstructed, while modern cameras equipped with advanced technology are being installed along the internal and external roads, perimeter walls, and surrounding routes.
Effective measures are being taken for the surveillance and monitoring of vehicles, motorcyclists, and pedestrians, with increased emphasis on mobile and foot patrols within the diplomatic enclave, he added.
Moreover, the deployment of mobile applications and a panic alert system has been introduced for prompt response in case of any untoward incidents. Additionally, a WhatsApp group has been operational to facilitate better communication.
During the meeting, participants raised questions regarding the current challenges within the diplomatic enclave, to which IGP provided directives to the officers for prompt resolution.
At the end of the meeting IGP said that Security of Foreign Missions is our most priority and we will use all of our resources to enhance the security of Missions.
IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi also visited the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA). He held meeting with AIG Investigation, SSP Investigation, and SP Investigation, where assessed the performance of the CIA and issued important directives to the officers.
He emphasized that investigation officers should expedite the investigation of cases, improve their performance, and strict action will be taken against negligence and carelessness.
Measures were taken to curb car theft by enhancing anti-vehicle lifting patrols in the city and apprehending car thieves to recover stolen vehicles, he added. IGP Islamabad issued strict instructions to all officers to fulfill their duties with merit and justice, and to avoid any injustice towards anyone.
IGP Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi also visited Safe City Islamabad. He met with the departmental experts for the revamping of Safe City Islamabad.
IGP Islamabad stated that he will make Safe City Islamabad the best model of its kind in Pakistan. This project should have the latest systems to ensure the safety of Islamabad. Moreover, there is an increase in the number of surveillance cameras in the federal capital. No area in Islamabad will be hidden from the eye of the camera.
He further mentioned that they will introduce modern technology to Islamabad Police. New drones will be added to Safe City, and policing operations will be digitized. He stressed that Islamabad Police is establishing an automated system for reporting and various other matters, while software development teams are being formed for the development of new software in Safe City Islamabad.
IGP Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi convened an important meeting at the Central Police Office (CPO) with SDPOs. During the meeting, IGP Islamabad evaluated the performance of SDPOs and issued vital directives. He emphasized the pivotal role of supervisory-level officers in crime prevention and stressed the importance of taking action against absconders.
Additionally, they were instructed to seek assistance from Safe City for crime control, and expressed dissatisfaction with delays and unresolved cases in investigations.
IGP Islamabad highlighted the need to closely monitor weak investigations and ensure thorough scrutiny of cases, underscored that no case in Islamabad will remain unresolved and directed all SDPOs to send minutes of meetings with investigative staff every week.
IGP Islamabad emphasized that the law and order should not be affected by any personal influence. He stressed that our responsibilities are our dignity, and while DIGs and SSPs are tasked with taking action, we are also accountable.
Similarly, SDPOs are directly responsible for their circles as well.He urged for enhanced effectiveness in night patrolling, zero tolerance for social and moral crimes, and the prevention of drugs and beggary in Islamabad.
Moreover, he emphasized a strict policy on drugs and gambling and conducting large-scale search operations. SSP Operations will conduct two “Khuli Kachehris” every week, focusing on cracking down on drug peddlers and professional beggars. Patrolling will be conducted from 7:00 PM to 2:00 AM, ensuring no go area in Islamabad.
However, daily raids and large-scale search operations will be conducted regularly, with all police officers expected to work diligently and avoid engaging in anything other than official duties. All police officers should maintain good relations with the media or representatives. From constables to IG, all officials should be called with respect by officers starting today.
