ISLAMABAD: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Muhammad Ahsan Younas on Friday held a Facebook live khuli katcheri to give the residents direct access to the police high ups as per the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
IGP Islamabad responded to the public queries via Facebook live comments, WhatsApp messages and phone calls from 10am to 12pm. SSP (Operations), AIG (Operations), SP (Headquarters) SDPO (Kohsar), and other senior police officers were also present on the occasion.
Hundreds of thousands of the citizens watched the live khuli kacheri on facebook and appreciated this step of the IGP Islamabad adding that the citizens also asked to continue it.
Speaking to the citizens, the IG Islamabad said that the police were striving hard to redress public issues as early as possible. He said the purpose of such initiatives was aimed at bridging the gap between police and the public.
People from across Pakistan put their proposals before the IG. Most of the issues were related to traffic, delay in registration of FIR, activities of land-grabbers, drug-peddlers, and police attitude.
The Capital Police Chief told the viewers that the federal capital has witnessed a clear reduction of up to 17 percent in crime incidents, (both the crimes against persons and crimes against property) during the month of February 2022 due to effective policing measures, hard work of the cops and swift action on Emergency 15 calls.
Responding to the request of a resident of Khanna, Burma town, the IGP directed the deployment of an Eagle Squad for patrolling at the area.
