IGP lauds police for foolproof security during SCO Summit

ISLAMABAD: IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi chaired an important meeting at the Central Police Office (CPO) Islamabad. The meeting was attended by DIG Islamabad Syed Ali Raza, DIG Headquarters Dr. Syed Mustafa Tanveer, DIG Law and Order Shakir Hussain Dawar, and other senior police officers.

IGP praised and commended the officers for ensuring law and order in the federal capital during recent events and for the comprehensive security arrangements made for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit 2024.
He announced awards and a gratuity equivalent to one month’s salary as a gesture to encourage the entire police force.
IGP said that all the police officers demonstrated bravery and a strong commitment to maintaining peace and order in the federal capital, emphasizing their dedication to serving and protecting citizens.
He also mentioned that the police officers had implemented full security measures for residences, venues, and routes for foreign delegations during the SCO Summit 2024. Citizens were informed about alternative routes, and traffic flow was efficiently maintained.
For the security of the SCO Summit 2024, Islamabad Police made extensive arrangements, utilizing all available resources to uphold the country’s dignity and identity.
IGP further urged all officers to continue protecting and serving the citizens with the same level of dedication and spirit.
