ISLAMABAD: IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi chaired meetings at Safe City Islamabad and the Central Police Office. The meetings were attended by DG Safe City Muhammad Haroon Joyia, DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq, DIG Headquarters Malik Jameel Zafar, AIGs, SSPs, SPs, and officers from Safe City and the Capital Development Authority (CDA).
During the meeting, the IGP Islamabad conducted a detailed review of the ongoing measures for the reconstruction and upgradation of police stations in line with modern needs, improvement of facilities for citizens, strengthening of infrastructure, and installation of modern security equipment. He directed all officers to transform police stations into modern, public-friendly centers so that better and timely police services could be provided to citizens.
IGP Islamabad also issued directions to all officers to intensify special and effective operations against criminals, drug dealers, and active groups; strengthen relations with citizens; promote community policing; ensure effective and well-organized planning of the patrolling system; and form rapid response teams to deal with emergency situations. Later, IGP Islamabad, along with the DIG Islamabad and other senior police officers, reviewed the investigation of important cases, examination of evidence, inquiries into suspicious individuals, and progress made in sensitive cases. He issued clear directions that all cases should be taken to their logical conclusion in a timely, effective, and professional manner to ensure the protection of citizens’ lives and property and the supremacy of the law.
Furthermore, in a meeting with the SSP CTD, AIG Special Branch, and AIG Operations, the IGP Islamabad carried out a detailed review of counter-terrorism measures, the performance of sensitive operations, the overall law and order situation, and matters related to citizens’ security. He also issued necessary directions to further improve ongoing search operations in various zones and actions being taken against terrorists and criminal elements.
