ISLAMABAD: IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi chaired important meetings with senior officers of Islamabad Police, during which the overall law and order situation in the federal capital, various aspects of policing, investigative and legal matters, the timely resolution of citizens’ complaints, and ongoing Safe City and Information Technology projects and initiatives were reviewed in detail.
DG Safe City/DIG Traffic Muhammad Haroon Joiya, SSP Safe City Shehzada Umar Abbas, and Director IT Atif Abbas briefed the IGP Islamabad on the progress made on assigned tasks and ongoing projects related to Safe City, modern technology, and Information Technology. Various matters concerning the effective use of modern technology, further improvement of the policing system, and the provision of modern facilities and services to citizens were also discussed during the meetings.
Reviewing the progress of ongoing initiatives and projects, the IGP Islamabad assigned new targets and responsibilities to the concerned officers and directed them to ensure the effective completion of all tasks within the stipulated time. He emphasized that the progress of all projects should be continuously monitored and their practical outcomes ensured so that the benefits of modern policing can directly reach the citizens.
Meanwhile, AIG Investigations/Complaints Inayat Ali Shah and AIG Legal Tahir Kazim gave the IGP Islamabad a detailed briefing on investigative and legal matters, pending cases, and ongoing measures for the resolution of citizens’ complaints. The IGP directed the concerned officers to dispose of pending matters on a priority basis, further improve the quality of investigations, and provide citizens with prompt and effective relief by ensuring the timely completion of legal matters.
IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi said that the standard of policing should be further enhanced through the effective use of modern technology, quality and professional investigations, strong interdepartmental coordination, and timely police response.
He stated that the prompt resolution of citizens’ complaints and the provision of effective, transparent, and quality police services are among the top priorities of Islamabad Police, and that no negligence or lapse in this regard will be tolerated.
He directed all officers to ensure the timely completion of their assigned responsibilities and targets while continuing coordinated and comprehensive efforts for the protection of citizens’ lives and property, effective crime prevention, and the enforcement of the rule of law. He also stressed that all departments should perform their responsibilities through mutual cooperation and effective coordination to bring further improvement to the policing system.
IGP Islamabad reaffirmed his commitment to further accelerating efforts to align Islamabad Police with the requirements of modern, effective, and citizen-friendly policing. He said that the policing system would be further strengthened through modern technology, professional capacity building, and effective oversight to ensure the provision of better, prompt, transparent, and dignified police services to the citizens of the federal capital.
