ISLAMABAD: IGP Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, presided over important meetings at the Central Police Office (CPO) Islamabad.
These meetings were attended by DG Safe City Shakir Hussain Dawar, DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq, DIG Headquarters/Security Syed Ali Raza, CTO Islamabad, SSPs, SPs, and other police officers.
During the meeting, IGP Islamabad reviewed the security arrangements for the cricket teams during the Champions Trophy. He directed all officers to ensure foolproof security and facilitate the exchange of information in full coordination with other law enforcement departments.
The routes used by the cricket teams should be monitored with modern technology and drones. He issued orders to senior police officers to ensure the security of the movement of domestic and foreign dignitaries and guests, including their residences and routes, and to prepare a systematic plan to ensure uninterrupted traffic flow in the city.
IGP Islamabad directed all officers to conduct search operations across the district before the arrival of the cricket teams. The special branch should ensure that information is collected and conveyed to the relevant authorities.
Before deploying officers on duty, they should be briefed on the nature of their assignments, and only the best-trained personnel should be assigned.
Islamabad Police will take all possible steps to uphold the country’s dignity and identity, leaving no stone unturned to ensure complete security during the Champions Trophy.
Additionally, IGP Islamabad also reviewed various development projects currently underway within Islamabad Police. On this occasion, senior police officers provided a detailed briefing on the ongoing development initiatives.
IGP Islamabad issued instructions to officers to complete these projects in a professional manner and within the designated timeframe.
Moreover, IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi also chaired a meeting regarding the performance of the Safe City Project.
During the meeting key issues discussed included crime prevention, monitoring of sensitive areas, identification of suspicious individuals and activities, and effective communication between the Safe City Control Room and the police.
He further directed the officials to enhance the performance of the Safe City Islamabad project by utilizing all available resources in an efficient manner.
