ISLAMABAD: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, chaired a meeting with DIG Headquarters/Safe City Muhammad Haroon Joya and CTO Islamabad Capt. (retd) Hamzah Humayun in which he reviewed the traffic management system in the federal capital.
On this occasion, IG Islamabad issued directives to senior police officers to ensure an effective traffic system and smooth traffic flow throughout the district.
He emphasized that all modern technological resources should be utilized within the ITP to ensure effective traffic flow on the roads, prevent accidents, and strictly enforce traffic laws.
He directed that Islamabad Traffic Police should be fully integrated with Safe City Islamabad so that, through effective monitoring, not only timely traffic arrangements can be ensured, but also strict legal action can be taken against drivers violating traffic laws.
IGP Islamabad also reviewed the facilities provided by the Islamabad Traffic Police to the public. He directed senior officers to ensure the comprehensive provision of facilities to citizens.
He directed that through Police Khidmat Marakiz, Traffic Police Centers and Facilitation Vans, maximum provision of learner driving permits, issuance and renewal of driving licenses and other services should be ensured.
Traffic police officers and officials should actively raise awareness among the public regarding traffic laws so that the federal capital can be made an exemplary and accident-free city.
