IGP visits Imam Bargahs

ISLAMABAD: IGP Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, visited various imambargahs in the federal capital. On this occasion, DIG Islamabad, Syed Ali Raza, was also present with him.
IGP Islamabad reviewed the security measures for the Majalis and met with the police officers deputed on security duties. He issued orders to the police officers, stating that all officers should ensure strict security arrangements for majalis and processions during Muharram. Special arrangements should be made for lighting during majalis and processions.
Furthermore, he emphasized that every officer should be fully alert and diligent in performing his official duties. No police officer should use a mobile phone while on duty. Participants in majalis and processions should be allowed to enter only after thorough checking with metal detectors.
IGP Islamabad issued further directions, emphasizing that the venues of meetings and processions should be cleared by the bomb disposal squad. All officers should maintain full coordination with each other and with scouts. Strict action will be taken against negligence or carelessness.
He reiterated that security duties are of utmost importance during Muharram. All police officers should perform their duties with honesty and commitment to maintain a peaceful and orderly atmosphere during Muharram.
