ISLAMABAD: IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi visited Islamabad Traffic Police Headquarters, Faizabad. On this occasion, Chief Traffic Officer Islamabad Captain (retd) Syed Zeeshan Haider and other senior police officers were also present.
CTO Islamabad briefs IGP Islamabad on Islamabad Traffic Police system and procedures, ongoing crackdown against traffic law violators, efforts for maintaining smooth traffic flow in the federal capital, and about the previous and current projects, the shortage of manpower, and other important actions.
He also provided information about the special checkpoints set up to maintain a coordinated flow of traffic and reduce accidents.
During the visit, IG Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi emphasized that actions against traffic law violators should be intensified without discrimination.
He instructed that the Islamabad Traffic Police force be rationalized, effective measures be implemented during peak traffic hours, improvements should be made in online e-challans, digital licenses, learners, and renewals.
Additional steps should be taken to maintain smooth traffic flow in the city, and work on approved projects should be completed rapidly.
He also recommended new measures for facilitating citizens who come to the traffic office for issuing licenses. He added, our goal is to protect the lives and property of citizens and keep traffic flowing smoothly.
Efforts will be made to ensure the rule of law on equal grounds to effectively maintain uninterrupted traffic flow in the federal capital, he added.
