IHC bars Police from arresting Marwat

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday barred the Islamabad police from arresting the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf legal team member without the court’s permission.
The court heard the petition submitted by the PTI legal team member, Sher Afzal Marwat who appeared before the court with his lawyer Qazi Adil.
During the proceedings, the court asked the police and others to submit a report regarding cases registered against Marwat. The court also asked the officials concerned to apprise if Marwat’s name is include in the Exit Control List (ECL).
Later on, the Justice Arbab Tahir adjourned the case till Friday with a direction not to arrest Marwat without seeking prior permission from the court.
Earlier, In a dramatic turn of events, a physical brawl between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawyer Sher Afzal Marwat and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senator Afnan Ullah Khan during a live television show has resulted in legal action being taken against the former. –Agencies
