Karachi: Pakistan’s world-cup winning team captain and current Prime Minister Imran Khan has been voted as the best captain in International Cricket Council’s (ICC) poll.
Cricket’s governing body posted a poll on Twitter and asked the cricket fans to decide which of these ‘pacesetters’ were the best among these geniuses. Indian captain Virat Kohli, former South African captain AB de Villiers and Australia women’s cricket team captain Meg Lanning were Imran’s competitors.
The poll was to pick the best out of these four after their averages improved drastically while leading their respective sides.
The 68-year-old Imran received 47.3 % of votes while Kohli earned 46.2 % of the votes. De Villiers received only 6.5 % while Lanning earned only 0.5 %.
The former all-rounder had a test average of 25.43 with the bat and 25.53 with the ball in Tests before captaincy but Imran’s average hiked to 52.34 with bat and 20.26 with the ball when he led Pakistan in 48 Tests from 1982-1992.
