LAHORE: Setting aside all the intelligence reports relating to fears of another attack on his life, PTI Chairman Imran Khan Sunday expressed resolve to reach Rawalpindi at all costs.
Talking to journalists at his Zaman Park residence, Khan said, “I know that my life is in danger. There may be another attack but despite all the fears, I would reach Rawalpindi.”
“I know that my wounds cannot heal soon. I will lead the long march with the wounded leg,” he added. Responding to a question about their next plan, the PTI chairman said that they would reveal their future strategy soon. The army chief should be appointed on merit, he reiterated. Chief Minister Punjab Pervez Elahi said that whatever PTI chief Imran Khan has achieved during his long march would be revealed in the coming days.
Speaking to the journalists, CM Punjab said: “We will give complete protection to Imran Khan.”
CM Elahi talked about the progress being done under the PTI-led coalition government in the province and said that hospitals are being built, projects are being inaugurated and more hospitals are being added to the Sehat Card.
“Only [political] dramas were staged in Punjab during previous [government’s] tenures,” he added.
Meanwhile, PTI’s central leadership Sunday met with Rawalpindi’s City Police Officer Shehzad Bukhari to discuss preparations and security arrangements ahead of the long march’s resumption on November 26.
