SRINAGAR: In occupied Kashmir, the Indian atrocities since 1947 have rendered over 3.5 million Kashmiris migrants.
A report released by the Research Section of Kashmir Media Service on the occasion of International Migrants Day, Wednesday, revealed that a big number of the Kashmiri refugees lived in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, UK, US, Canada and other countries. The report said that the unabated Indian state terrorism during the last thirty years had forced over forty thousand Kashmiris to migrate and live outside the territory as refugees and migrants. These Kashmiris live in different refugee camps in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Pakistan.
The report said that at least 40401 of the migrant Kashmiris were living in migrant camps set up in different cities and towns of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. It added that of those migrants, 27,260 were living in Muzaffarabad, 6,805 in Bagh, 5,393 in Kotli, 805 in Mirpur and 138 in Rawalakot.
Agencies add: People of Jammu & Kashmir dwelling either side of the line of control and other rest of the world Wednesday observed 52nd death anniversary of eminent Kashmiri leader and Quaid-e-Kashmir Chaudhry Ghulam Abbas with full respect and honour coupled with the renewal of the pledge to continue the mission of the departed Kashmiri leader till the liberation of the occupied part of the Jammu Kashmir state from Indian yoke.
The anniversary was observed with the renewal of the pledge to continue the mission of the pioneers of the Kashmir freedom movement to make the Kashmir freedom movement complete success.
It was gazetted holiday across AJK to mark the death anniversary of the eminent Kashmiri leader of freedom struggle and the first supreme head of the AJK government.
In Mirpur, a special ceremony was held to mark the death anniversary of the departed hero of the Kashmir freedom struggle.
