LAHORE: The Institute of Public Health (IPH) in compliance with the directions of Specialized Healthcare and the Medical Education Department has announced to impart training to the teachers of educational institutions of Lahore as Master Trainers on Prevention of Coronavirus.
Later, these Master Trainers will extend training to their colleagues to create awareness regarding preventive measures among the students. Education Department, Lahore will collaborate with IPH in this regard. The training for Master Trainers will start from March 12th (Thursday).
Dean IPH Prof. Dr Zarfishan Tahir on Wednesday informed that the IPH will extend all-out cooperation to the Education Department for dissemination awareness regarding preventive measures for Corona Virus among the students so that “Health Message” should reach to every house through students. Prof. Zarfishan Tahir said that by adopting adequate preventive measures people can protect themselves from the infection.
According to the schedule issued by the IPH, training will start on March 12 from Govt. Centre Model High School, Rettigan Road, on March 13th a group of 75 teachers will get training in Govt. Muslim High School, Lahore Cantt, similarly training will be imparted in Govt. High School Baghbaan Pura on 14th March, after that a training session will be held on 19th March in Govt. Comprehensive High Secondary School, Wahdat road. On 20th March, a group of Master Trainers will get training at Govt.
Pilot Higher Secondary School, Wahdat road and after that a Special Training Session will be held on 21st March at Govt. Girls Comprehensive High Secondary School, Wahdat road for Administrative Staff of Education Department Lahore in which all administrators, AEO, DDEOs, DEOs and CEO will participate.
Dr Zarfishan Tahir was of the view that these master trainers will be helpful to trainee other teachers of their schools who will deliver lectures on preventive measures against CORONA Virus to their students for effective control/ protection from the virus.
The IPH has constituted six teams consisting on Public Health Experts, Epidemiologists to accomplish the task. Dr Anjum Razzaq, Dr Ume Salma, Dr Mursleen, Dr Rukhsana, Dr Ayesha, Dr. Danial, Dr Farrukh Alvi, Dr Taimia, Dr Tipu Sultan, Dr Huda, Dr Rabia Islam, Dr Sania, Dr Maham and Dr Seenum are included in these teams while Dr Aazam will be the focal person for this training program, she added.
