Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister said on Wednesday that a proposed transit route being negotiated between Iran and Oman could remain viable for two to four months, according to the state-run IRNA news agency.
The official also said that the United States returning to its commitments under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is a prerequisite for reopening the Strait of Hormuz, but stressed that this condition alone would not be sufficient.
He further said that no talks have been held with the United States in recent days, dismissing speculation about ongoing negotiations. –Agencies
